This is not my story, but my mom’s. One night, she was out of a walk with our dog. We lived on a military base, so she was very comfortable walking outside after dark. In an area that was very very dark, she all of a sudden saw a group of floating red lights flying through the sky. They weren’t super close to her, but they weren’t very high up either. They were moving strangely fast, and weren’t making a sound. They were all moving together as if they were attached, but she couldn’t make out any shape of a solid object. The dog began to freak out and jump around, even though there was no sound for it to hear. The dog was usually very calm and quiet so this was very strange. My mom was a bit spooked, but assumed that it was some excessive or experiment that the military people on base were conducting. But it didn’t really make sense.
