Point Pleasant
1966-1967

On November 15th 1966, a cryptid later dubbed as "Mothman" was sighted for the first time by two West Virginian couples driving towards Point Pleasant City Limits, according to the Point Pleasant Register. For the next year, many more Mothman sightings were reported in Point Pleasant, concluding on the 15th of December 1967, with the collapse of the Silver Bridge between Point Pleasant and Gallipolis, Ohio, which killed 46 people. The two events are widely regarded to have been connected as the Mothman sightings were some sort of prophecy warning its witnesses of the impending dangers.
