Someone out the window

My room
when I was around 11 (i'm 14 now)

One night I couldn't sleep well and I was up crocheting at around 12:45, my brother sound asleep (we share a room) before the sounds started it had been silent, the way where you can hear it pounding in your ears. It started small, like distant giggles in the yard (I could look out the window, it was next to my bed) I stood on my bed and looked out the window (our room is halfway underground, so the windows are VERY low) and saw nothing. I sat back down and thought that I was hearing things, it was really late after all. It slowly got louder, the more I got up to check the louder it got. It must have noticed when I stopped checking or saw me, because I heard it hop to the window (You heard me right) Loud bounding hops that shook the ground. I heard whatever it was get down on all fours and laugh it's heart out into my window. I knew it was real because it woke up my brother, we didn't dare move so we just stared at each other. It went on for what felt like forever. I didn't know the time since my brother's blanket moved and covered the alarm clock when he woke up. I was shaking so hard. I got up as slowly as I could on my bed to check the window, I don't know what came over me. I pulled up the blinds (I closed them after I gave up, then it whatever it was came over) opened, the window, and screamed "LEAVE US ALONE!" but nothing was there. -Greyson Boyd Taylor 7/5/2025 (when I wrote it)
