I had the worst and most scary night staying here for my school camp. For certain reasons, I was made to sleep in a small cabin by myself, seperate from all the spacious dorms other students were staying in. To make matters worse, said classmates were convinced that the campsite was haunted, especially the fireplace in the cabin I was staying in. Right before we would all be dismissed to our rooms, we were herded into the cafeteria for a fun trivia game to the end the day. However, about half an hour into the quiz, a power outage occurred throughout the entire campsite and I was forced to retire to my allegedly haunted abode. Like the anxious middle schooler I was, I stayed up almost the entire night, sitting on a chair pressed against the door, leaving frantic voice-messages for my mum. I refused to sleep as I couldn't shake the feeling I was being watched. When my smartwatch finally ran out of battery, I was left in the pitch-black darkness. The rest of the night, I lay awake in my sleeping bag, accompanied only by the breathing and faint whispers of whatever was in that fireplace.
