My mom was arriving home, and I heard her in the building's hallway. I usually open the door for my parents before they knock because I think it's funny, so I went to check through the peephole to see if it was her. It was her, but she was talking to our neighbor. I don't know why I kept watching and listening to their conversation. It was one of those polite chats you have when you don't know someone very well. My mom had her back to the door while she was talking. At one point, I heard my mom's voice, normally and with the hallway's echo, saying, "There's a ghost at the door." I looked over at the neighbor's door to see if I saw anything, but I didn't, and the neighbor kept talking. After my mom came inside, I considered not saying anything because I was eavesdropping on a conversation that wasn't mine, but I finally had to ask. 'Why did you say that to the neighbor?' I asked. 'What?' she replied. 'I heard you say there was a ghost by the door.' 'DO YOU THINK I'D SAY THAT OUT LOUD?' she said. 'Are you sure you didn't?' I insisted. 'I didn't say it. If I had, the neighbor would have said something, right?' I was both shocked and thrilled. My mom explained, 'That happened because we're very connected, so you picked up my frequency.' It's still hard for me to believe, but I've heard similar stories since then.
